Can't ping 8.8.8.8

Trying to keep this simple...

I can ping most of the internet - but, I can't ping other parts like google at 8.8.8.8

So, people in my household get erratic results and it works some of the time and doesn't other times.  Like I'm on Xfinity forums right now with no problems.

I see other people with related issues on this forum - but, comcast always responds with a stipulation that they won't talk about the issue publicly - only direct message.  So, I haven't been able to see how it gets fixed.  I assume Xfinity ends up rebooting one of their routers in an Xfinity datacenter.

Anyone have any insights?

Anyway, Xfinity is coming to my house tomorrow morning.

I should mention that Houston has a windstorm last night and the Xfinity Outage Map shows tens-of-thousands of homes that don't have their Xfinity internet working.  I'm guessing the poor Xfinity employees are working overtime trying to get things going and someone didn't restart a Xfinity server correctly, or something.

truerock2 Thanks for letting us know the issue went away. It may been caused by the service interruptions including power in the Houston area due to the recent storms.

Your response to the storms has been abysmal and possibly illegal.
