Can't change wifi channels without app

Hi.  I have a new Sony Bravia 7 TV that is frequently reporting loss of internet connection when set to use WiFi but not when using ethernet. (However it only has 100mbit ethernet while it has Gbit wifi so switching to ethernet is undesirable).

I live in an apartment so the wifi here is quite congested but even so the Xfinity Gateway is sitting on 2.4Ghz channel 11 together with 7 other networks, and 5Ghz channel 157 along with 20 other networks.  These are absolutely the two busiest channels by a long way and look like maybe default channels for xfinity devices.

I'd like the gateway to rescan and pick quieter channels to see if this stops the TV errors.  I used to be able to do this from the 10.0.0.1 admin interface but this now shows me the settings but doesn't let me change anything as it is locked and requires the xFi app.  However my mobile phone is with Apple for repair, and the option to rescan channels doesn't seem to be available on the xfinity website anymore (it used to be available on the xfi website).

Any other ways to get the gateway to rescan for better channels?  Power cycling the gateway doesn't seem to work.

Thank you for reaching out @user_f3moxo I am also a gamer that lives in an apartment and understand how having many other networks in a small area can affect your devices. I had noticed that my TV will try to switch to different networks from time to time making the signal drop from my network. I did have to work with the manufacture of my TV to get the settings set up to stop searching for available networks even while connected to my own. My TV is a bit older and I am unsure if your Sony has those settings as well. Do you notice when the signal drops other devices also drop?

That being said having the Xfinity App is the best way to control your Gateway. Do you know when you would get your phone back from Apple? Do you have anyone that can download the app so that you can sign in there?

Unfortunately, I have experienced the same issue.  I spent almost 5hrs of my day being shuffled through 4 different Tech support persons whom aren't very technical when it comes to network issues. With my Pixel 8 Android device in hand, the Xfinity app didn't even function.  To be fair, it functioned or it opened and displayed buttons but they were buttons to nowhere.  Ex: 1) I select Wifi Details and nothing displays.   It doesn't stop there! 2) Select View Wifi Equipment> Advanced Setting > WiFi bands :  Nothing appears... the app just displayed the Title screen and nothing but a blank page.  Then I went to the Website like you and it was totally disabled to the consumer to change anything, it was only to viewable.  I was able to factory reset the xFi modem/router by holding the button for 20sec.  However, this is when I discovered the new login screen that did not open me directly to the router settings but to a login screen that forced me to do a new SSID Name and Password.  Oddly enough this is when I saw that all 3 bands were Title with the same name and password.  Which let know I wasn't going to be able to change my band names or passwords.  I'm in Wifi prison.

user_nvgzqk, Currently, the options to modify the network are not available on the xFi App. I know not having the function users had before with the admin tool is not a welcome sight for our more tech-savvy customers. If the app has limited functionality where you can't even update your network name, we can surely help on our end.
