Cannot figure out router default admin login, even after a hard reset.

I cannot login to the admin settings for my XB8 router. I have enabled admin login through the xfinity app, and performed a full reset by holding the WPS button for 30 settings until the light blinked green. The default login of admin/password hasn't worked, neither has admin/admin, and there is no admin login information on the router's sticker. The model number is CGM4981COM. I'm trying to enable bridge mode, so I need access to the admin settings page.

Yes, I am not able to log in to the admin settings page so I cannot reset my credentials that way. I can however view the admin settings page through the 10.0.0.1 IP address.

user_bubnb4, thank you for reaching out as well and sharing that. You did mention you enabled the Admin Tool. When you go to http://10.0.0.1 -- did you enter this? 
  • Username: admin
  • Password: Check the sticker on the bottom of your Xfinity WiFi Gateway.

The sticker only contains a network password/name, which hasn't worked for the admin login, part number, fcc id, and mac address.

user_bubnb4, correct. So when you are on that page, entering admin as the username, and the password on the sticker on that website, what are you receiving?

I see an error message noting an incorrect username or password. After 3 attempts, I am locked out of trying for 5 minutes.
