Cannot connect to Nintendo Switch after update!

Hello I upgraded my modem to the xfi xb8 (I'm pretty sure) recently and since then I have not been able to connect to the wifi. I have power cycled it multiple times, I have turned the switch off and on multiple times; I made my switch forget my wifi multiple times, I even tried changing the security from WPA3 to WPA2 and that didn't work still.  I'm very annoyed and I don't know what else there is for me to do, when I try to connect it prompts me to put my password in and I have done that many times so I know my password is correct. I'm at a loss!

If anyone could figure this out for me that would be greatly appreciated. I've read so many forums of people having similar issues but I haven't seen a conclusion that works for me..

Hello, ineedhelpplease54 if your XB8 is online and all other devices can connect to the internet then this tends to be an issue with the Nintendo Switch being compatible with the XB8’s wireless settings. It seems like you have done well reading forums and troubleshooting. WPA-3 is too high for a Switch. Since you have tried WPA-2 without success, since you already reset your modem, and forgot and re-connected your wireless network on the switch, I would focus on the wireless band type. An XB8 is Tri-Band which means it broadcasts a 6.0 GHz network. A Nintendo Switch is only compatible with 2.4 GHz network and 5.0 GHz network. I would use the Xfinity app to edit the wireless band. If you don't have any devices in your home using Wi-Fi 6E than it's best to broadcast a 2.4 GHz and a 5.0 GHz network only.

@XfinityJosephA Hi I have tried to disable the 6ghz band to see if that would solve my issue but it still isn't connecting! I logged into the admin portal to disable it and I did it on the app and It still won't connect  to my switch still!

@ineedhelpplease54 I can understand the frustration, everyone in our home uses a switch and not being able to connect it would just cause chaos in my home. If everything else in your home is able to connect without any issues I would contact Nintendo's customer support for additional troubleshooting.
