Cannot connect to any call of duty servers

I have been unable to connect to any call of duty servers on any device. On PS4 and PC i have tried the modern warfare alpha, the beta currently running, modern warfare remastered on ps4, blackops4, i always get "cant connect to online services."

I have done everything from forwarding all ports, turning off upnp, and even setting up a dmz to make sure i got  ALL the ports forwardedm nothing works.

What does the result of a Ping or a Traceroute to the servers show?

I've been facing same issues!! I've already tried to do everything but nothing changed. This is one thing that only Xfinity technical team can switch internaly. Maybe they'been blocking ports in their system (firewall) before providing service to us.

That's nonsense. Comcast is one of the biggest ISPs in the country - if they were activeliy blocking ports to popular game servers we'd hear about it from everyone.

Again, read my previous response - what does a Ping or Traceroute to the servers give you?

Note for other users, I (the creator of this post) did not select this as the best answer

Seriously, folks, if you expect any help in this forum, you're going to have to help us out here. We're not mind readers, and we don't have access to your networks.

Again, what is the result of a Ping or a Traceroute to the servers in question?

If you don't know how to do this, see this thread: Xfinity Internet Connection Troubleshooting Tips

Yes Seriously. I have not been able to get DNS or ip addresses for there new servers yet to run ping, pingpath, or tracert. But I will put a sniffer this thing whenever I find they time from building ip networks all day at my day job.

Hi,

I am currently having the same issues and even port forwarding on my router isn't opening the ports.

You have requested a traceroute however call of duty has individual match hosts, and the IP info of their main servers are a secret to prevent DDOS attacks.

How can we test the path or ports other than pinging the server?

A ping or traceroute to WHAT servers dude? Considering it took 9 months for a tech to actually come out and complete a scheduled rewire, youll have to forgive me if i have 0 hope that these incompetents can actually do anything.

I know for a fact it's the provider's end because I tried using my hotspot on my phone and it works but not using WiFi...

I'm having the same issue... I have forwarded all ports needed, I have created a static IP for the PS4 and added that IP to the DMZ and issue still there... As soon as I connect the PS4 to a 4G hotspot it works, so this seems indeed an issue of ports being blocked between the home mode/router and the Xfinity gateway.

This is the list of ports Xfinity needs to verify as open:

  • TCP: 1935,3478-3480
  • UDP: 3074,3478-3479

The reason for the traceroute is to pinpoint where exactly the blockage is taking place. If you can't do this on your system on your own as you've described, you'll have to ask for help from Activision Support.  There's nothing else we can do here.

For clarity. You must mean combo modem / router gateway devices. The MG7550 is a gateway device. Plain vanilla cable modems can't be affected as they are only simple layer 2 bridges that pass everything.

SOLUTION!  The problem from Motorola themselves is the combination of cod servers, comcast, your modem provider and your location, to sum it up, if you own a particular modem and live in a particular state it WONT work. The only solution they gave me is calling your modem company because they know their own tech, and they'll tell you which of their modems will bypass this issue.(basically getting a new modem that works for cod) As for now, they have told me Activision isn't looking into the situation, but modem companies and service providers are, it could be solved in a day, week, month... no one really knowns...

BTW...the modem that currently doesnt work for cod in Michigan is motorola MG 7550
