Cannot connect new switch oled console to wifi

Have used a Motorola modem router (mg8702) I purchased a year ago.  It has worked well, except with Nintendo switch.

said modem/router runs on 5 gz.

in January, 2023, had to find a nearby hotspot to connect my original Nintendo switch console, in order for it to work in my home

Yesterday, bought newer OLED model.  Again, experienced same problem.

i don’t even see my network listed as wifi option for the switch. No issue connecting cell phones, wireless printers etc to wifi

Again, Tried using the nearby hotspot (where the new switch did initially connect).  It did connect.  However, As soon as I entered house, that option vanished

help needed

Hi, @Keishashadow! Thank you for your time spent reaching out to XFINITY over our forums page for help with connecting to that hot spot with your Nintendo Switch. My family and I truly love playing on the Switch together so I understand the inconvenience that this can cause. Do you have a favorite game? We will certainly do everything within our power to get you connected. We can help. Have you tried locating another hot spot to see if you connect? When connecting with a mobile device, how many bars of signal strength are you getting from that hot spot?
