Can the nightly internet updates be turned off

Hi there I'm trying to figure out if the nightly auto updates can be turned off. I'm a part time streamer and usually dont get to get on the internet until midnight -4am and almost every night I get kicked out of my game and my stream for a stupid 5 minute update just enough to send my potential supporters looking for others to watch. I would much rather have "dumb" internet than a nightly inconvenience with the amount of money i pay.
