The two WiFi bands SSID's have recently been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. Some devices get confused and don't know how to see / talk to combined SSID's.

If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 names and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

Associate the TP-Link with the new 2.4 SSID (broadcast name) and password.

I am also trying to connect a TP-Link extender (RE305).  I have tried, unsuccessfully, to connecting with the single network name / password.  I have tried, unsuccessfully, connecting to the 2.4ghz after separating the bands.  I am going to try to connect using the TP-Link app next.  A year ago, in a different house, using a motorola modem, all I had to do was connect the extender to the modem via ethernet cable.  I tried this with the xFi and it did not work.
