Can no longer login to my CM2050V purchased modem

Hello.

I've been using a Netgear CM2050V modem that I purchased a little over a year ago for use with Comcast without issue. When I got it, I changed the login password, as the default password was "admin". Now today I am no longer able to log in. I have tried the password that I have been using the past year, and even defaut admin password, but it doesn't work. I have also powered the modem off and back on, and also pressed the Rest button for 30 seconds on the back for the modem to reboot. But nothing I do will allow me to login. I like to login once a week to check the modem's signal levels and if there are any uncorrectables.

I posted this on the Netgear help site and was told that maybe Comcast pushed a new firmware that disables users from logging into their own CM2050v modem, as this happened on some Motorola modems.

I got it to work. Had to do a few of the resets on the back, and a 2 min power down. Then was able to use the password printed on the bottom and login.

But when I went to change it to the password that I had been using (6 lower case characters and several numbers) it said that one character now had to be capitalized or use a special character. So I did the same password as before but capitalized the first letter. Now I can log in. But something must of changed, for my old password not to log in, had to factory reset, login with the defaults password, then use when trying to change to my old password I had to capitalize the first letter
