You want to change the 2.4 band on your modem to
802.11b ? If that's what you're saying, is there a reason you can't use that link in your question? Maybe I'm mis-understanding...

I have the same issue, can't connect an Aria scale.  Can't find a setting in the Xfi app to change the wifi mode.   I logged into the Gateway admin page where you can actually find the wifi mode setting, but it is greyed out and can't be changed.  Does anyone know if the modem even supports mode 'b' and if so, how to enable it?

FWIW, please see bullet points 2 and 3. Just sayin'.

General Facts About 802.11 Compatibility

802.11 is the standard designation originally developed for wireless communications. Improvements are incorporated into the standard, using letter designations a/b/g/n/ac. Learn which networking protocols are compatible with each other to help maximize your networking speeds.

  • 802.11a technology is generally incompatible with other networking protocols. Older protocols are not used at all.
  • Comcast wireless gateways and access points support all the required protocols (b/g/n/ac) for client connectivity.
  • During the connection process, devices learn the protocols supported by the gateway (b/g/n/ac) and select the protocol it will use to transmit data.
  • As a client device goes through its internal protocol selection process, it settles on a protocol that provides the greatest capability and speed.

I have a similar issue but I am using an xFi router. On Sunday, we lost power for a couple minutes and ever since my Aria 2 scale won’t sync. I’ve restarted the router and tried all of Fitbit’s troubleshooting steps with no success. We had it on the 2.4GHz access of router snd has been working for 2 months setup that way. Now I can’t get it to recognize anything with restarting the scale to make my Fitbit app sync to the scale or the scale to our 5.0GHz or 2.4GHz and they want to know my router protocol.  I don’t know where to find that information. Any guidance would be helpful.
