Call About Contract Discounts Expiring

I just received a call from an unknown number in the 514 area code that was identified as being “potential spam.” An automated voicemail message was left informing me that my contract is expiring and my monthly discount is currently being removed. The message advised me to call the number back immediately to stop this from happening. My contract actually is expiring next month, and I would like to renew it, but I don’t know if the call/message I received is legitimate and don’t feel comfortable calling back. Can someone here help me?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello, Julie_F_73! Thank you for your feedback and for joining us here on the sub. Bad actors may also try to impersonate Xfinity representatives or websites to obtain your personal information. As a quick reminder

Your first line of protection is to enable two-step verification on your account. This extra step will help keep your account safe, even if someone gets your password. Once you enable two-step verification, we’ll text or email you a verification code before we allow an unrecognized device to sign in to your account. Remember: Never share your verification code with anyone. If you receive calls, texts, or emails claiming to be from Xfinity, verify their authenticity by contacting Xfinity directly through their official website or customer service phone number. Do not share your personal information or financial details with anyone who contacts you unsolicited. Promotion, experiencing and looking for a change? No problem! You're able to personalize your services and get the plan you need now, with our latest deals on reliably fast Internet, live TV, and more by logging in online here. And of course, our team would be happy to help too!

Thank you for your response. I do not answer or return calls or texts from unknown numbers and I did come to the website to verify the authenticity of the call and voicemail I received. I’ve had two-step verification enabled since I opened my account and nobody else has access to it, so all should be good there.

Clicking the link above for the latest deals just takes me to the Xfinity website. I am not interested in the regular promotions/plans listed there and I don’t want to change anything. I simply want to renew the contract I already have for another year, and keep my current discounts. I was told I could do this when I opened my account last year, as long as I did it before my contract expires.

I got such a call this afternoon. Different area code. Check your account on the official website, or call the Customer Service number on the official website. If these don't match.  IT'S GOTTA BE A SCAM.  It's best not to contact scanner, just delete and ignore.

Yeah, the only thing that made me question the validity of the voicemail was the timing of the call. It mentioned how the discounts with my current contract are ending, and my contract and discounts actually do expire next month. I typically ignore these kinds of things, but this coincidence made it seem like there was a slight chance it could be credible.

Julie_F_73 We can look into available promotions because your current pricing may not be available, so a new agreement would be needed. To send a direct message, please click on the chat icon in the top-right corner of the screen, and select "Xfinity Support" to initiate a Direct Message.
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "direct messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
