Cable modem dropping for 30 seconds. Millions of OFDM Errors
For the past couple of weeks my internet connection has been unstable with multiple drops an hour for about 30 seconds. The log of my Motorola mb8611 cable modem shows error code 16 which is described on the forums as
DS OFDM profile failure |
FEC errors were over limit on one of the assigned downstream OFDM profiles of a channel |
Soon after error 24 is shown indicating FEC recovery
I have a tech coming out tomorrow. Is there anything Xfinity can do to check their nodes leading up to my pedestal on the street?
Lots of errors on channels 33 and 34
Channel | Lock Status | Modulation | Channel ID | Freq. (MHz) | Pwr (dBmV) | SNR (dB) | Corrected | Uncorrected |
33 | Locked | OFDM PLC | 193 | 690.0 | -3.3 | 34.6 | 28573293 | 38843034 |
34 | Locked | OFDM PLC | 194 | 957.0 | -12.5 | 29.5 | 11550551 | 51024811 |

I posted this on my ring doorbell app and a half dozen people have responded in a 3 mile radius they are suffering similar disconnections. Is there a better way to notify xfinity? They are claiming no outages in the area on the app.
