Bridge Mode & Modem MGMT IP & LAN IP

Hello - I'm planning on enabling bridge mode.

Modem-->firewall-->LAN

Questions:

what happens to the mgmt ip of the modem once in bridge mode?

How does the modem get it's IP address once in bridge mode?

I don't want to have a dup IP and I want to be able to get back into the modem just in case something goes wrong and I need to disable bridge mode because my firewall LAN will be configure with the same IP.

Looking for other folks that have done this and don't mind sharing their experienced.

Thanks in advance.

Management IP in bridge mode == usually ends up at 192.168.100.1  on most gear in bridge mode.  You didn't say what you were using for equipment.

Where does that address come from?  It doesn't get that internal IP address from Xfinity.  The 192.168.100.1 address is just done internally in firmware  .  It's just a pass thru device in bridge mode.  Your Firewall WAN port will get the external IP address from Xfinity.  Configure your firewall to handle the internal LAN network(s).

If it's a complete disaster, you can always reset your gateway to factory default, and it will revert back to non-bridge mode.
