Blocking youtube in Router

Hello, I have xfinity wifi with router model XB7 vendor Arris Group.  I blocked several domains like youtube.com, m.youtube.com etc and keywords like youtube in the gateway parental control desktop interface.   However, kids are still able to access youtube.  My son is using VPN and my daughter is able to access youtube without using VPN.  Is there anyway to block youtube?

Good evening Raj, thank you so much for bringing these questions about parental controls and YouTube specifically. Using the Xfinity App and your X1 cable box, you can enable parental controls based on network, available Apps on X1 and internet parental controls based on websites.

Set parental controls for content on network websites and apps

You are also able to assign intent devices to specific profiles in the Xfinity App, and set controls based on these profiles.

Manage people with the Xfinity app

@XfinityAlfonso That doesn't work. I have the same problem as he does and looking at this forum this is a problem for the past 4 years that you guys haven't fixed. A total SHAME. Let's start by this, I'm not interested in the TV streaming, I'm interested in laptops/chromebooks. My son is not even using VPN's, he's not that knowledgeable. In xfinity app I set up a profile for him, and then I set parental controls as ON. There's no other option in the app, it says that Xfinity is working with a third party yadda yadda yadda. I simply do not want my son wasting time with YouTube, I don't care which video. he's not watching porn, he's just wasting his time. I WANT TO TOTALLY BLOCK IT. Then I try the 10.0.0.1, even though your instruction says it won't work with my router which is also the XB7. I use block words, I block the website like the parent did above and GUESS WHAT, I could still access it from his chromebook. YOUR ROUTER DOES NOT BLOCK ANYTHING. CAN YOU PLEASE SOLVE MY ISSUE? It's simple, just  "OUR ROUTER DOES NOT BLOCK WEBSITES" and I go and get your router back and I'll get one that does the job. Thanks.
