Birdbuddy Camera Won't Live Stream

Received a Birdbuddy birdfeeder for Christmas, which has a camera that connects to the wifi.  Shows connected and the xfinity app shows strong connection.  Once I turn on live stream it attempts for a while, but then states "Something went wrong".  Is there something blocking this stream? It is cloud based.  I have other Wyze cameras on my network and have no issues with them.  Also, contacted Birdbuddy and all they have had me try doesn't fix anything.

Hello @user_rh12fs Thanks for joining us here on Xfinity Forums. I'm personally not familiar with Birdbuddy specifically. But quickly reading about them and the same goes for some other cameras require the device to be connected to a 2.4ghz connection. By default, our modem combine the two 2.4ghz and 5ghz network bands into one connection by default. So if you haven't enabled split bands you can do so in the Xfinity app by going to the Wifi Tab>Wifi Details > Edit Wifi Settings> Then pressing the Split bands toggle. This will allow you to name the two network bands separately and then try and connect the Birdbuddy to the 2.4ghz band specifically.

I attempted this and it exhibited the same behavior on the 2.4ghz band.  Any other suggestions?

Try this too: using the Xfinity app, select "connect" at the bottom of the screen

Select "View or edit WiFi settings"

If you have split the bands by assigning a separate ID and Password for each band, then select the 2.4 GHz WiFi band

Go to the Security Mode box where it may say "WPA3 or WPA3-Personal-Transition" and change to "WPA2"

Then "Save"
