Best way to connect hardware

I have a DVR box XG2v2-P and a Gateway modem. I only have on coax outlet in the wall. I get about 800 mbps and 1.2TB of data a month.  What is the ideal configuration of the hardware?

1) Coax from wall to DVR. Then coax from DVR to Gateway

2) Coax from wall to Gateway. Then Ethernet from Gateway to DVR

3) get a coax splitter. Run the cable from the wall to the splitter. Then connect both boxes via coax to the splitter

Good evening @rodfermain, and thank you for reaching out on our Community Forums about the best configuration for your XG2v2 DVR box and gateway modem, I hope your week is off to a wonderful start and want to assure you our team is here help! I would recommend either running the coax from wall to Gateway and then Ethernet from Gateway to DVR or trying a splitter.

Have you also looked into our awesome wireless DVR boxes? With an X1 Wireless TV Box you can watch live TV through your in-home Xfinity network without a coaxial cable connection. X1 Wireless TV Boxes also have the same functionality as other non-DVR X1 devices. For more information, I have included the following link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wireless-tv-box-faqs.

If you are interested in possibly swapping equipment, please let us know and our team will be happy to help! 😀

@XfinityAlyssaA - I have 1.2 TB of data allotted to my plan. Would this option of X1 Wireless Box count against my data consumption?
