bad ping/latency for PS5 gaming

I have the 1000mbps internet plan and use Arris SB8200 (3.1) plus google wifi (1st gen) throughout house.  I run speed tests on phone and get 300 download, 40 upload and 13-15 latency.  But am getting 50-100 latency on the PS5 and experience quite a bit of lag.  Is there any simple fix for this?  PS5 is connected via ethernet to a wifi puck directly.  I know there a lot of threads on this but couldn't find anything to change.  also, should I be getting more than 200-300 download speeds?  help please.
