xtruroyaltyx Hello, and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. Experiencing persistent lag spikes on your PS5 even after the usual troubleshooting can be super frustrating! Since you've already tried resetting equipment, updating your modem, messing with port forwarding and PS5 settings, and even switching between wired and Wi-Fi, we need to dig a bit deeper into what might be going on.

To help us pinpoint the issue, could you share:

  • When does the lag occur?
  • Are all online games affected?
  • Are other network devices having issues?
  • What's your internet speed tier?
  • What's your modem/router model?

  • When does the lag occur?

Seems to happen all the time. Any time of day i can run a network test that tests packet loss and a few tests will be fine and then ill have one or more with packet loss 20% or higher.

  • Are all online games affected?

Yes, all games as well as video chat.

  • Are other network devices having issues?

It does not appear to affect streaming tv and movies. It does affect facetime, video chatting though on phone and computer.

  • What's your internet speed tier?

I increased my speed all the way up to 1000 mbps but that didnt resolve the issue so i went back down to 400 mbps.

  • What's your modem/router model?

Xb8

A tech came out and checked everything and didnt find an issue. He also changed out my wiring. Issue still exists.

Also, initially i had an xb7 i think when the issue first started. When i started having the issue i increased my speed and i was sent an xb8 and storm ready wifi.

When i unplug my router and the storm ready 5g kicks in, the speed obviously decreases but i dont get the lag spikes and packet loss.
