Arris TG4482A MSO login and password of the day, still in full effect.

In case folks aren't aware, Comcast never disabled the MSO login on their modem/routers. I did some searching, and this has been an issue since at least 2009. I was totally unaware of this issue until I started service with them a couple of weeks ago. After a salty exchange with one of their tech support people, he flooded my email box from the Xfinity service email account, then logged into our router using MSO and the password of the day and set it to bridge mode, disabling it. One of their techs assured me it was no big deal, because "they change the password sometimes." In other words, it's not even a password of the day, it's a password of like, whenever they feel like changing it. No substantive response from Comcast. Just getting kicked around to various departments and 800 numbers. No one knows a thing. VERY REASSURING. I'm sure their "investigation" will be totally thorough. No one at Comcast will tell me how to disable the MSO login. There's no option to do it through the admin account settings. I tried talking to Arris; they won't touch it. If anyone has any advice for disabling MSO and any other secret logins, I'd greatly appreciate it. Comcast employees are literally breaking the law and the company's response is *SHRUG*.

Hi, @user_2a1ace While I can see how this is a concern, I want to be sure to get you the information needed to make the best decision for your household needs. If I'm understanding you correctly, we would have a certain level of access to your network and equipment, to be able to provide support. While a lot of customers like this feature, we do have the option for you to be able to purchase your own modem if you prefer. I'm including a link, https://comca.st/3v27vLj, in case you decide to go that route. Please let me know if there are any other questions or concerns I may answer for you.
