Arris SB8200 Front Panel Lights
All, I just installed a new ARRIS SB8200 modem. It appears to be working correctly. My upload and download speed are fine (930 dn and 41 up). I replaced an SB6190. The documentation I have been able to find indicates that when connected the upload and download lights should be blue. My upload light is lit up white. My other Arris modems both lights are blue when connected. Did arris make a firmware change at some point ? Anyone else see this ?

I can't answer that specific question but according to this: https://arris.secure.force.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SB8200-LED-Light-Status/?l=en_US&fs=RelatedArticle the light should only be either green or blue. Perhaps it's defective. If everything is functioning as expected, I wouldn't sweat it.

Sounds good to me. You are probably right. It was green during startup then white. If it's only 2 colors the white should be blue after a successful start.

The Arris SB8200 is a docsis 3.1 modem so this is how the lights work. Your downstream light is blue because your local system is using D-3.1 for the downsream. Your upsrream is green because your local system is still using D-3.0 for the upstream. So your modem is working correctly.

The lights can appear white or green it just depends on the amount of light in the room.

All:
Did some checking the upstream light definitely starts out green during boot up. But then changes after a successful start, pretty much the same time as the downstream light turn blue the upstream light turns from green to a white color. I'm thinking at this point it's just a bad upstream LED as I can't find any other issues.

Or it could be that the coding in the current firmware load tells it to behave that way.
