Arris SB8200 - ethernet ports
One reason I choose this modem was that it has 2 ethernet ports. I was planning to connect one to my router and the other directly to my desktop PC. What I have been told is that only one port can be used, which is what I'm finding.
Can Comcast configure this modem so that both ports are active?

You would need to pay for an additional public / WAN IP address to be assigned to the modem by them. They are phasing that feature out but I'm going to escalate your issue to the Comcast corporate employees that are available to these boards. We've seen cases here where they have been able to get this accomplished for customers even when it is not listed in their rate cards, YMMV. You should get a reply here in your topic. Good luck !
