Arris SB8200 and Asus RT-AX55 connection issues

I purchased my own modem (Arris SB8200) and have tried connecting my router Asus RT-AX55, but since Arris does not have a dedicated WAN port in the back, it does not allow me to connect to my router.  Have I made a mistake?  I get an Error message Your ISP's DHCP does not function properly.

The modem only have 2 internet ports in the back and I thought that I can use 1 for a router, was I wrong?

Only one port would be active on the SB8200 unless you purchased an additional public / WAN IP address from them. The problem with that is that they are phasing this feature out so it may not even be available anymore in your market area.

General FAQs: SB8200: Ethernet Ports (force.com) here is some details on the setup of the Arris. Usually it`s the top ethernet port that gets activated.

Hello. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us today. I know how important it is to ensure you are able to get connected. Since the modem is not our equipment, we wouldn't be able to detailed troubleshooting on the device. I would suggest reaching out to the manufacturer and they will be able to walk you through how to connect the router.

If your internet is not working while hardwired directly to the modem though, we would be happy to troubleshoot and ensure the modem is added to the billing system. :)
