Arris s34 poor internet speeds

I am not receiving the next-generation speeds I pay for. I had xfinity bot check my internet but it is saying there is a problem with my equipment but when transferring me to a live agent, it keeps saying unable to connect me. I call but cant get threw to a agent. 

This is so pitiful that it has been 2 hours and I have gotten absolutely nowhere with my problem. 700MB down and 18 up is nowhere near the speeds I should be receiving.

Do you have your own modem or the Gateway @user_jdks40? You would want to visit the link: https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/ to check on compatible modems. As long as the modem is a modem/ router combination you would not need to get separate equipment.
