Arris G54 download speed is below 930 and upload is 41 on 1.2 plan.

I purchased the Arris G54 combo after upgrading from 800 to 1.2 plan.  I can’t get over 930 download and 41 upload.  I talked to Arris and Xfinity help with no results.  An Xfinity tech will be out next week to check my system.  When I had the 800 plan with the old modem/router, I was getting 890 download.  Will changing the coax cables help?

Does the device / computer that you are testing the speeds with have a greater than 1-gigabit ethernet port (2.5 gig) ?

I am using a 2019 27 inch iMac desk top computer.  I the ethernet information is as follows:  PCIe Link Speed:  2.5GT/s, Maximum Link Speed:  1 Gb/s.

That computer has only a gigabit ethernet port. Due to the ethernet overhead, they can only deliver around 930-940 Mbps, so that's normal. You would need a network adapter that has a 2.5 gig port if you want to get the speed you are paying for.

I purchased the StarTech thunderbolt 3 to 10GBase-T ethernet network adapter.  I am now getting 1367 download speeds but 41.2 upload speeds.  On the Xfinity form, I read that some people are getting 200 upload speeds.  If this is true, how can I obtain those upload speeds?  I had a tech from Xfinity come in today and check the lines.  Everything checked out fine.  I rebooted my modem but I am still getting 41.2 upload speeds.  I checked on line with Xfinity and the 1.2 gig plan did indicate that the upload speed was 35 or more.  Is it possible that the posts that I read on this forum that people are getting 200 upload speeds are incorrect?

See this for info on all of the conditions that need to be met for the next-gen speeds;
