Arris G36 vs Arris SURFboard SBG10 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem & AC1600 Dual Band Wi-Fi Router

In the selection of compatible devices is Arris G36, but when I search for that on amazon I get this one: ARRIS SURFboard SBG10 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem & AC1600 Dual Band Wi-Fi Router.

Does anyone know if this is the same as Arris G36?

That is not it. Best I can tell, the G36 isn’t released yet.

They are two different devices. The G36 doesn't appear to be available on Amazon yet. But the SBG10 is.

They are both on the approved list on the official Comcast site;

What’s the best equivalent that isn’t $400?

@user_f157bb I’m wondering the same thing. For my individual 1.2 gbps internet plan with the wifi and docsis feature toggled my options are either the Arris G36 or Netgear CAX80.

Kinda odd though that the G36 is not released but on the Supported Devices list well matching with my plan of course.

There are several versions of the same Modem/Router(Gateway?) though which can get annoying.

The Netgear CAX80 however is over $400 USD.

Any suggestions anyone?

The Netgear CAX30S seems like a good option. It's not as fast but it will still support the 1.2 gbps plan: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092VZBNCC/ref=emc_b_5_t

Comcast said they increased my speed from 600 Mbps to 800 Mbps so I was also looking at that modem.  The specs for my current modem (ARRIS SB6190)

says it can go up to 859 Mbps, so I'll just keep what I have.  I paid $99.99 for this in 2017 (it's $79.99 now on Amazon).  I'll keep this until it stops working.  Sure my internet speed may go up over 800 Mbps, but will I ever notice?  While it would be good to have a more modern modem, I wait.  The price will likely come down and someone else will have ironed out all the bugs by the time my modem is officially out of date.
