ARRIS G36, GIGABIT 1.0 Gbps, and MoCA 2.5

Hi. I'm trying to build a wired home network using my current 1.0 Gbps service and the DOCSIS 3.1 modem and stumbled upon MoCA. Has anyone made this combination work? My plan is to split the entry coax cable, one for the modem (and then ethernet to a MoCA adapter then to the same coax cable to go back to the splitter) and the other for a MoCA network. However, I am reading that MoCA 2.5 can interfere with DOCSIS 3.1. I could place a MoCA filter before the splitter and the modem to suppress interference, according to some of my readings, but am not sure why the modem would still operate when you filter out certain frequencies that it uses. Alternatively, I could completely separate the MoCA network from the modem by placing the modem and a MoCA adapter in the attic (POE), but this is not an ideal solution as the equipment will be in the attic and I will need an extra MoCA adapter. I appreciate any thought on this. Thank you for reading.

Hey there @kenb0607. I am more of a visual creature myself and wanted to share this diagram from one of our experts from a post a while back that should help with identifying how a MoCA network should be set up with adapters. The adapters are a bit outdated but the general information about the setup is still valid.
