Arris 2482ac gateway was working fine until Xfinity outage

I have cable TV, Internet, and voice through Xfinity. I was playing ps5 couple nights ago and lost Internet connection. Got on Xfinity app and was informed there was an outage in my area. Once outage was fixed my gateway at first had intermittent Internet. It would come on for 2 minutes and go off for roughly 2 minutes, repeating over and over again. I tried soft reset and it booted up connected with no Internet. I have talked to Comcast and they want to send service tech out. This is where it gets interesting. I came home last night and got the idea to hard reset gateway so I did and it went back to factory settings like it was supposed to. So I went on Xfinity app and renamed network and password(same name and password that was originally used by Xfinity) and what do you know I had Internet and everything was working fine. Playing ps5 again and Comcast resets the gateway right in middle of game and now I'm back to square one but now the gateway will hard reset but not go back to factory settings! What gives? Why would Comcast reset the gateway anyways? It makes me think they want it broke? I have tried to do the same thing that fixed it but it won't go back to factory specs. It connects with no Internet both 5g. And 2.4g bands same thing. What is my problem and how do I fix this? I would rather not have a service tech out, only as last resort. Please help!
