are all ports on the back of the xb8 modem active
I plugged my printer directly into the back of the brand new router, no activity. Printer says cable is disconnected. TTried 2, 3, and 4.

They should be if the device isn't malfunctioning. The port marked with the orange-red stripe is capable of 2.5-gigabit speed. The others are only 1-gigabit capable.

Thank you for reaching out to us @fhtechllc! As EG mentioned, the orange port can support speeds up to 2.5 Gbps while the other ports can support up to 1 Gbps. You mentioned trying ports 2, 3, and 4. Is the XB8 currently in bridge mode with a personal or standalone router connected to port 1?
When bridge mode is active it disables the XB8’s wireless connection and only allows 1 device to be hardwired (typically a standalone or personal router).
