Answer to a coaxial question

Can I have a solid R11 coax run from pole to modem or does the R11 need to be split at where it comes into the house? If the latter, will an R8 or R6 coax work better?

I can't answer what Comcast will do, but you can't use RG-8 coax at all because it is a different impedance rating (50 ohms). 75 ohm coax is needed. RG-11 is a very rigid cable. It's impractical to use at the premises. RG-6 is far more flexible ! And it's fine for shorter runs.

You can change to or use whatever you wish from the grounding block / demarcation point inward to your premises.

Why do you need a RG 11?  Kinda overkill and very unlikely to be done be the cable company. RG6 will work just fine, unless there is a huge distance. RG8 is 50 ohm radio wire and RG6 is 75 ohm cable TV wire. Impedence matching.
