Amazon Echo Dot Gen 4 Not Connecting

I recently moved and got set up with Xfinity wifi in my apartment. Everything else has connected great, but my echo dot can't locate the network :/ I've been fighting with it for a few days now and I've tried just about everything I could find: restarting the modem, power cycling the echo, resetting the echo entirely, and updating the Alexa app. Does anyone have another solution I could try?

Are you using the Xfinity XB8 gateway device ? If so, it speaks the WPA3 security protocol. The Echodot Gen 4 speaks the WPA2 security protocol.

Try using the XFi APP  (although it is a bit hidden) to change the XB8 from using WPA3 to WPA2.  Go to XFi APP, select 'connect' on the bottom, select the network name, 'view/edit WiFi Settings', change security mode to WPA2.   (WPA3-transition doesn't work either). Good luck !
