After upgrading (to a new modem) rented from comcast the Xb8

I received an email from xfinity that i was recently given increased internet speeds which i was required to get a new modem for...now mind you the days before i swapped out this modem my speeds were between 250 and 680 MBs fantastic speeds i was actually impressed... i had zero issues other than an occasional outage that's never reported on xfinities map...so i report it via the app and wait...it usually gets corrected so no biggie....but im getting away from my current issue....after i swapped out the modem my speeds are now between 1mb and 20 mbs... its enough to stay online...so i shouldn't really complain...but thats like 2% of the speed im supposed to get...its not the wiring in my house its not my cat6 ethernet cable either.....but what it could be are the numerous wires i see dangling from the poles outside my house....but im always asked to have a tech come to my house....this is frustrating

@user_ciwb5r I understand how important your services are to you as they are to me as I also to work from home full time and any service issues will cause a headache not only to not be able to assist my customers but prevents my kids from getting school work done and being entertained while I am working! 

 

We offer convenient self-service options to check service interruptions through My Account, the Xfinity App, or the Xfinity Status Center at http://www.xfinity.com/support/status. Have you checked there yet? If no interruption, I want to make sure we are respecting your time and not repeat the steps you have taken previously. What troubleshooting steps have you taken? 

 

I also wanted to make sure you are aware that any time you need to troubleshoot our Xfinity app can assist you step by step.
