Advice on router placement
I am building a new home and the electrician is asking where to install the cat 5 or cat 6 cable to connect to the new router. Where is the best place for that? Do I need a tech to come out to the site and evaluate? Thank you.

The modem in your home would connect to a coax outlet (in most cases) and your router would typically be nearby to connect to it. Without having all the details, I'd advise having the router located in any room of your choice that has a coax outlet installed.

FWIW, have the electrician use cat6. Cat5 is outdated.
