Advanced Secutity not allowing VPN

I just changed from the XB3 to  XB7 because the issue started about 3 weeks ago. I tried connecting my work VPN yesterday. I couldn't connect so i looked at advanced security on xfinity app and noticed that it was blocked. I then allowed access and the app told me it will be allowed for 30 days which i agreed. I was then able to connect my work vpn. Today, i tried connecting and it doesn't connect. The internet is working fine. I checked advanced security and nothing was blocked and I can't allow access to anything cause I already allowed access for 30 days for my work vpn. What can I do? Its not the VPN's end, as no one else i know has this problem. Only me that this is happening to. I've talked and chatted with multiple agents from xfinity and none of them have been able to fix this.

Thank You

user_mmk Hi there!
If you're experiencing VPN issues with your Xfinity XB7 gateway, try disabling "Advanced Security on the go" in the Xfinity app or adjusting firewall settings to Minimum Security (Low) in the Xfinity Admin Tool.
Here's a more detailed explanation:

1. Check for "Advanced Security on the go":
  • If you have "Advanced Security on the go" enabled: This feature might be interfering with your VPN connection.
  • To disable it:
    • Open the Xfinity app.
    • Go to Security.
    • Tap Advanced Security.
    • Tap the gear icon in the top right.
    • Locate "Advanced Security on the go" and disable it.

Please let me know if this helps!

Advanced security on the go is disabled. It seems like the connection to vpn works if advanced security is disabled all together. Seems like its a bug in the xfinity system as I had allowed access yesterday already but its not registering and it doesn't pop up for me to allow.

Thanks for the update, I appreciate your patience and assistance while we find a solution to the VPN connection troubles. Can we try the following.

. Adjust Firewall Settings:
  • Log in to the Xfinity Admin Tool:
    • Go to Gateway -> Firewall.
  • Select IPv6 (or IPv4 if IPv6 is not listed):
  • Choose Minimum Security (Low):
  • Click Save Settings:
