Advanced security won’t turn on
Just got my router and advanced security will not turn on.
When I enable it, it just kicks me back to the Home Screen and it still shows off.

Are you using an Apple device with private relay turned on? The services may not be compatible.

Same problem, I turn it on and it loops me back to turn it on again. Advanced security would be nice, especially since you guys raised my rates by $40. I’m sick of Xfinity

What is an alternative way to turn it on other than the app? The app doesn’t work to turn it on.

I have just setup the XB8 and am having the same problem. When I attempt to turn on advanced security it just does nothing, then kicks me back to menu. Has anyone come up with a solve????

There might be a work around for it. One poster here reported setting the advanced security option in the app, and then physically pulling the power cord on the gateway, waiting 30 seconds to wipe out memory, then plugging it back in worked. Maybe it will or not. Worth a try. Perhaps you get the setting from the remote database that way.
A net nanny you don't control is kind of worthless though. If you aren't "port forwarding", hostile actors have nothing to work with so banking off your device firewall is the same thing. Also, since you have no control over their cloud edge or who it blocks is less than useful, especially if there is content you want that you then can't get if it's active.
If you want to do content filtering, there are other options. Software like Snort for adaptive firewalls, or pfBlockerNG is probably more of what you are looking for. Then you control the schedule, device, and content, plus the policy violations that can take place on your network both remote and locally. You write the rules, or add exceptions to them.

Same here. Continuous loop to start screen. The same thing happened when I tried to add XFi Complete.
