admin access to XB7 modem for static IP address
My Xfinity XB7 gateway previously allowed local admin login at 10.0.0.1. I had swap it recently because it was discolored due to showing overheating I guess. The new modem does not allow me to login as Admin. I need to assign static IP addresses to some devices connected as LAN. It now forces me to use the Xfinity app, which does not provide DHCP reservations, LAN subnet control, or advanced router settings. This is a loss of functionality for equipment I pay monthly for. I request restoration of local admin access or an alternative gateway that supports full LAN management.

Hello @user_99079d just wanted to reach out to see if you were able to make those necessary adjustments to your modem?

I have the same problem. I was happy with my previous gateway but Xfinity told me I should upgrade. When I got it, it took over an hour with support to make it functional but then I could no longer login to the admin tool. I may be able to do most of what I need in the app if I can get it to work but all the MAC addresses I need to enable are on my desktop and doing this on the little screen of my cell phone is a royal pain. This is no upgrade.

I found the switch in the cell phone app that allows me to access the login from to the admin tool from my desktop. I wish this was better documented and I also wish the people in the Xfinity store would have told me about it. After I logged in it still took me a while to find where to set up the MAC filter. It isn't with the device list where I would have expected it.
