ADDITIONAL MODEM

I have an XFinity X1 modem installed in the family room. However, I have a lot of spotty areas where I lose signal especially in rooms upstairs even with 6 Xfinity Pods already installed. Is it feasible to install another Doccis 3.0 Netgear modem upstairs in addition to the existing modem downstairs? I am assuming that a separate modem will improve signal availability upstairs.

Thanks,

Tom

Most systems will not allow two modems to be used at one address. It's best to call in to see what the local policy is. Even if they do allow it you will need to pay for two accounts (twice what you are paying for HSI now). In addition, the signal levels/line quality has to be adequate enough to allow for the losses that are associated with the necessary additional cable split.
