Adding xfi pods

I have four gen1 xfi pods that have never been connected to my network.  One by one, I have plugged them in five feet from my XB7-T gateway and attempted to connect them using the instructions on the Xfinity app.  None of them get past the slow blink wake up stage.

The app stays on "Waiting for pod to come online" until it times out

Yes, all four show up but each icon is greyed out and the description says "Offline".

I purchased them from eBay, so the were most likely connected to another network before this one.

Are these new Pods, or did you acquire them secondhand?

Gen1 xFi Pods are quite old, technology-wise, and you may not see the benefits you’re hoping to get.

Were the pods purchased through xfinity or an authorized dealer?  If you bought them anywhere else, they probably cannot be activated as they were tied to someone else's service.
