Adding ASUS router for gaming

I have the standard gateway modem/router provided by Comcast. I've bought an ASUS ROG router for multiple gaming reasons for my family, and can not in any way get this router to connect to the internet.

I've enabled/disabled bridge mode, hard reset both to factory settings and tried again, and nothing seems to work. I've used this router at another person's house without issue, they have a netgear modem. This has led me to believe the issue is with the gateway router/modem.

Without buying another piece of hardware, I was hoping someone can help me figure this out.

Any help would be more than greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums @KiloL. I am sorry to hear you have had trouble connecting this router. I am not personally a gamer but I have three teenager's in my home, so as you can imagine gaming is a constant discussion in my house. It sounds like you have purchased a nice router. Let's take a closer look and see if we can get this working. We will circle back around to the public forum with a resolution, as soon as we have one.

In order to check your modem, I will need to gather some personal information. Can you send us a private message with your full name, name of account holder (if different) and service address? To send a private message, please click the chat icon next to the bell in the upper right corner. Click the “notepad and pen” button. Send the full message to our shared support handle “Xfinity Support”. We look forward to hearing from you!

Tried to DM you, couldn't find you on the populated list.

I am glad you have our fantastic tech department helping @KiloL. Please keep us posted once you get the new modem. I am crossing my fingers this will solve the issue for you. If you do need to message us in private for any reason, instead of sending the message to my handle you will send it to "Xfinity Support" from the drop down. We all share one handle to make sure customers receive 24/7 support.

I no longer work for Comcast.
