Add AP to my network

I live in an old brick home. I had an access point on the network for years. Recently, it was removed. I am trying to replace it / put it back to expand WiFi coverage. I am concerned range extenders will not work as the Wi-Fi signal from the Xfinity router won't penetrate from room to room. It isn't just weak. Devices won't connect.

What are my options? Are they supported? How much does it cost?

Thanks for reaching out. If you need an access point device with Ethernet connectivity to use throughout your home, that would need to be purchased by the customer.

Xfinity does offer Xfinity Pro, which includes a backup device that also works as a Wi-Fi extender to help improve coverage. Xfinity Pro also performs random Wi-Fi assessments, and if it detects low Wi-Fi coverage in certain areas of your home, you may be eligible for a free Wi-Fi extender. https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/xpro
