Actual or reat internet speed rates Mbps delivered as measured by Ookla.
Want to see if anybody had measured actual Mbps speeds delivered as measured by a third party like Ookla. We are on a purported 2 Gig plan supposedly having speeds up to 2 Gigs. Actually download speeds as measured by Ookla is 425 Mbps. Wonder if we drop to a 500 Mbps plan what would the actual download speed look like?

Good evening @user_1o1u9q! I know I’d be concerned if my speeds were coming back under one quarter of my plan’s speeds. One thing to keep in mind is that speed tests from sites like Ookla measure the speed being received by the specific device running the test, not necessarily the speed being delivered to the modem.
A number of factors can affect those results, including:
• Whether the device is connected via WiFi or Ethernet
• The capabilities of the device's network adapter
• The type of Ethernet connection being used (CAT5, CAT6, etc.)
• Other devices using the network at the same time
• The server selected for the speed test
For example, on a 2 Gig plan, a device with a 1 Gbps Ethernet port or a WiFi connection may never see the full 2 Gbps available to the modem, even if the modem is receiving those speeds correctly.
To better understand your situation, are you seeing the 425 Mbps result on a wired or wireless connection? Also, what device are you using for the speed test?
