user_xd8kpq Please use this link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/install-storm-ready as it will give you a complete overview on how to do the activation. I didn't see where Wi-Fi was needed to do that.
Are both pieces of the Storm Ready WiFi needed? Modem and Backup battery? I am planning to use the system for a prolonged period, due to Hurricane Helene. Per a recent discussion with a XFINITY tech, the Storm Ready device will not initiate without assistance from the battery backup. However, they were able to activate and attach to my account with power from an outlet without using the backup components. I’m asking because this level of detail is not available online.
user_xd8kpq I know the battery backup is needed for when the power is offline, However, when the power is on it should not be necessary.
