Activating a cable line

I want to move my router and modem to another bed room. There are coax cable outlets in the room but none appear to be active since I’ve tried setting it up there numerous times but no internet connects.

How do I get the cable line activated or schedule a technician to do it?

Try tracing the coax cables from the outlets to a main splitter / feed from the pole / street somewhere. The lines may be disconnected from it. It's typically located in a garage, attic, or a crawl space area. If you get a Comcast tech out to do it there will likely be a charge of around 100 bucks.

@EG thanks for the response.

I should’ve mentioned this originally but I live in an apartment building so retracing lines is impossible.

Hi there @user_11f000 . The advice the expert gave was exactly what I would suggest. Did that help?

I no longer work for Comcast.

Try asking the owner / building management about it first before contacting Comcast. Good luck !
