Activate modem/gateway without Xfinity App or Social Media (ie Twitter) accounts
I have new replacement Xfinity modem/gateway equipment, but it requires the Xfinity app to activate it for use. I cannot use the app, so I am looking for help in how to activate new equipment without it. In addition, I do not have a Twitter account in order to send a Direct Message to the Xfinity Support Team. If I can't get this modem working today, I will have to close my Xfinity account and go with another provider.

1-855-652-3446. That is their self-install device activation line. The modem should be powered up and connected. You will need to have access to the label on the bottom of the gateway, as you will be asked to give them some information from that label.

Not sure this will work but you could try hard resetting the device to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear (or use the WPS button if it doesn't have a reset button hole) for 30 seconds.Then start over.
