Activate coax port by myself

I just moved to my 1st apartment and subscribed to Xfinity for Wi-Fi. I rented their modem and picked it up yesterday, and tried following their activation process through the app. The modem seems to be fine (white blinking indicator, can even see the Wi-Fi network), but I've tried a dozen times and it still doesn't work.

I tried called customer service and they checked and told me that my coaxial connection seems to be inactive, so they can send a technician to check. However, I cannot afford a tech visit ($100), so I was wondering if I could activate the coax port by myself.

Else, I may have to consider cancelling Xfinity and switching to another provider.

Hello Richard, thanks for replying. I'm still trying to activate it, I've reviewed and it seems that the coax port is disconnected for my apartment, so a technician visit is required.

Since I can't afford the technician visit, I'll probably be considering on cancelling the service (I originally enrolled to Xfinity since it was the most affordable option)

If you are in a multiple dwelling type of building, you could try to get the owner / management company's maintenance person / people to connect the other end of the line to the Comcast feed for you. Good luck !
