85% of packets sent to my apartment are corrupted. [Edited]
Xfinity has designed their rental modems to not only hijack your DNS so that they can sell all of your data to the government and advertisment companies but they have also designed their modems to obfuscate their dilapidated network infrastructure from the consumer. My XB8 modem is actively repairing 85% of all of the data that enters my apartment. This modem has gotten me banned in WoW because it actively manipulated real time packets to the Blizzard server which resulted in my character becoming completely invincible on the last boss. I was able to kill the last boss by myself on the highest difficulty before the Race to World First had even ended. eSports orginzations get paid millions of dollars to win this challenge and your modem allowed me to beat it solo. I don't know whether to be angry or impressed. Oh, wait thats right, angry. I should be angry because not only was banned for 30 days for something out of my control but I should also be angry because I cannot maintain a healthy or stable UDP connection. Your XB8 rental modem is causing massive fluctuations in my RTT Jitter graphs across any online competitive game and it doesn't just affect 128 tick servers but also downloading anything or watching movies on netflix or even browsing the internet.
My two OFDM channels are drowning in noise but you have created standards that normalize low signals within a specific threshold so that you can avoid fixing your old cable infrastructures. The fiber split/DOCSIS 3.1 update never should've happened. There are too many old neighborhood taps, failing amps, and disfunctioning nodes for this rollout. I've troubleshooted everything on my end. I replaced the RG6 n my 20 year old apartment walls with a new RG6 quad shield and the signal issue persisted. I brought my XB8 rental modem directly to the main drop on the outside of my apartment wall and the signal issue persisted which means the issue should be originating outside of my apartment.
I had my main drop replaced in December of 2025 and the tech that did it said the line would be burried in a few days. During that time I had multiple days of terrential rain storms and my neighbors parked their cars ontop of the orange line before it was burried. I was never told that it was a temporary line. I looked up the color of temporary lines used by Xfinity, they're supposedly orange. The line I currently still have as my main drop is orange while all of my neighbors are black.
I had a tech arrive 2 weeks ago on a Friday after I waited almost 2 weeks to get an appointment. The first thing he did was ask me if my dad was here because my dads name is on the bill. I told him no, I'm his son. He then took his phone out and showed me that my signals were good and that he was able to connect to my modem and get 110% of the normal speeds! Oh boy! Oh goodie! Well guess what Xfinity? I grew up on computers my entire life, since I was 3 years old. I'm not like my 70 year old parents who don't know anything about the internet. I know you love to fool old people into buying your garbage service but times are changing and you're going to get phased out because of how you treat your customers and how bad your service is. This tech then realized I wasn't buying it because I immediately started talking to him about the low signals on my two OFDM channels and how I had already troubleshooted everything inside of the apartment. This tech was incapable of speaking proper english. He was conviently choosing to not understand my english when it would've prompted him to do more work yet he knew the english words for "Can I use your bathroom?". This type of tech service is a direct reflection of how you treat your customers and it makes complete sense as to why you would hire someone like this because it fits directly with your business model.
Eventually I was able to get this tech to walk to the neighborhood tap. The tap was old and weathered. The cover doesn't even fully fit ontop of it. The tap looks crowded with more than 8 ports being used or with too many apartments on it. All of my neighbors wires are black and mine is orange. The tech said the signal to my apartment was low at the tap and that he would escalate this in a ticket to ask for more power. I waited a full week. Nothing changed. I called support again, I had to perservere through a few different Indians who spoke no english before finally being pushed to another Indian with better english who was also labeled as a "tech support". Finally this Indian tech support guy told me that the tech that arrived at my home never made a ticket. This Indian tech support guy now told me that a new appointment would be made for an outside tech visit that doesn't require me to be home and he scheduled it for today (8/18/2026) from 8am to 12pm. Can you guess what happenned? No one showed. I have a ring door bell. It captured no one all day. I've been here all day. Saw no Xfinity line truck, no engineers, nothing.
I can browse the web but pages sometimes load slow, I can upload but I cannot download big files very quickly and I cannot maintain a healthy UDP connection for more than 10 seconds. This causes massive desync on any server that I use due to constant fluctuating RTT jitter from the packets of data being rebuilt by the rental modem XB8. This has forced my computer into a non trusted state by multiple vendors and services. This has also caused HARDWARE FAILURES on my personal gaming PC because of how Microsoft Azure cloud servers work in relation to anti-cheats and my Ryzen 9800X3D's fTPM certs. Windows 11 requires a constant, uninterrupted, unmodified/delayed packets for TPM attestation to be present. Because you're not capable of providing me this type of connection, my Ryzen 9800X3D has been experiencing complete and total fTPM failures because certain anti-cheats ping it continuously to maintain an attestation handshake. Vanguard specifically is notorious for having control over PCIE lanes and shutting them down when it fails to maintain a steady connection. This has caused my PC to black screen multiple times and force restart itself. So not only am I paying 222 dollars a month which is absolutely ridiculous but I'm being provided a non functional service that is actively causing potential damage to my own personal items. Not to mention your XB8 rental modem is like a furnace due to the billions of calculations it has to make in order to obfuscate your dirty network infrastructure.
I hope this helps anyone who is looking to by Xfinity as their ISP. Xfinity should go back to the days of only providing a working service and stop there. You should not have the right to hijack my DNS and continuously force that DNS upon me through permanent modification of my Windows registry by your rental devices. You shouldn't be allowed to reroute my data even after I change my DNS to google's or cloudflares and then sell that data to advertisement companies or the government. You should be ashamed of yourselves. It wont be long until people catch on to this scam and stop using your service or worse.
