4 Days Without Internet + Technician No-Show — Now Facing a Full Week Without Service
I’m beyond frustrated with how Xfinity has handled this situation.
My internet has now been completely down for 4 days. I’ve spent hours troubleshooting with Xfinity, and it appears that my modem needs to be replaced. Despite having no internet at all, the first technician appointment I could get was 4 days after I initially reported the problem. In the meantime, I was placed on the “waitlist” for an earlier appointment, which unfortunately accomplished nothing.
My confirmed appointment was finally scheduled for today from 3:00–5:00 PM. I left work early specifically to be home for this appointment.
The technician never showed up. No call. No explanation. Nothing.
After contacting Xfinity again, customer service apparently couldn’t even reach the technician. Instead of getting someone out here to correct the missed appointment, I was simply placed back on the waitlist and told I would have to wait for the next available appointment.
At this rate, I will have gone approximately ONE FULL WEEK without home internet service.
It’s 2026. How is leaving a paying customer without internet for a week considered an acceptable level of service?
This isn’t just an inconvenience. I need reliable internet to work from home, and today I rearranged my work schedule and left early specifically because Xfinity gave me a confirmed appointment window. I also changed my personal plans and missed dinner plans to be available — only for the technician to never show.
Xfinity offered me a $20 credit. While I appreciate the gesture, $20 does not come close to making this right considering the extended outage, hours spent troubleshooting and contacting support, lost work flexibility, missed appointment, and additional days I’m now expected to wait.
At this point, I need Xfinity to:
- Get a technician to my home ASAP — not several more days from now.
- Replace the modem/equipment necessary to restore my service.
- Provide an appropriate account credit for the full outage AND the technician no-show.
- Explain why a confirmed technician appointment was simply abandoned without any communication.
I’ve reached the point where there is about a 99% chance I will switch to AT&T unless Xfinity can get this resolved quickly and make this situation right.
Internet reliability: Two thumbs down.
Customer service experience: Two thumbs down.
I absolutely cannot recommend Xfinity based on this experience. Enough is enough. I’m asking someone from Xfinity who actually has the ability to escalate this to please step in and get my service restored.
