35 mbps download speed despite being on 300 mbps plan

Hi, 

First time xfinity customer here - I'm getting 35 mbps download speed despite being on 300 mbps plan. 

I use a compatible router: ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300 and there's nothing blocking the router. 

What would be the next best steps here to optimize? Thank you.
