2nd IP Address

I have recently purchased a new cable modem. It has 2 ethernet ports. Howeever only one is active. I have seen posts in the forum discussing this, and am curoious if the 2nd IP address is still available?

They are phasing it out but I'm going to escalate your issue to the Comcast corporate employees that are available to these boards. We've seen cases here where they have been able to get this accomplished for customers even when it is not listed in their rate cards, YMMV. You should get a reply here in your topic. Good luck !

So....was the request completed to your satisfaction? I have the same issue where I have two ports and only one is working on SB8200. Please advise on how to resolve the request.

Not yet. I did receive a reply from one of the Xfinity employees who asked for my name and address. I provided that on Wednesday, but haven’t heard back yet.

There are messages about people beings able to get it. Also, I had a tech come out to check my line and he claims that both ports should work. Wondering if I should just walk over to the Comcast store....

I can assure you that the Comcast employee that responded here in your thread is NOT a bot..

 

We have been told by the Comcast powers that be that they are currently shorthanded due to this time of the year, COVID, and a glitch with their system.
