2.5 multiport ethernet switch not working

Just upgraded to 2.5GB speed with new gateway and Xfinity has finally got things sorted for proper speed/config.  New Gateway only has one 2.5gb port.  Purchased TP-Link TL-SG105-M2 unmanaged switch.  Using Cat6A 10GB cables.  Cable run from 2.5GB port on Xfinity gateway to switch then to 2 PCs and Mesh router.    Activity/data transmission lights blinking.  Mesh router operating correctly with active Wifi signal however PC's have no internet via direct connect from switch.  Xfinity Gateway is in bridge mode, is this the issue/reason why PC's do not have internet and Mesh router does?  I thought the switch solution would be super simple but Im missing something somewhere.  What is the correct config to provide internet to both Mesh router and direct connection to PC's?  Any help for this amateur would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think that will work. A gateway in bridge mode only passes along a single IP address, so the next device in the chain needs to be a router if you want to connect more than 1 device. If you still need the switch it should be connected to a LAN port on the router, not to the gateway.

Super helpful.  My wireless mesh router capped out at 1GB so I was trying to take advantage of the new gateways 2GB speed and direct wire this into my 2 desktops but as you indicated only 1 IP address was being passed.  That was going to the mesh router.  Bought some materials on basic networking etc as its very interesting to me and ended up replacing the old mesh system with a new one Wifi7, GB speeds. etc.  everything working well and I learned a lot.  Thanks again for your help.

@user_q1iwlt Thanks for adding a post to the community. It is a great place to see what others have done in your situation, and get advice from fellow users. Having the Xfinity gateway in Bridge Mode is appropriate for having an additional router. That will allow you to set up, and manage your own network, exactly the way you want. From all direct connections, to multiple wifi networks in one home, it can all be done through the power Xfinity. Here is https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wireless-gateway-enable-disable-bridge-mode a guide on making sure Bridge Mode is enabled correctly. From there you want to isolate why there is no signal to the connected devices, or verify the uses of managed/unmanaged network switches in your specific set up.
