2.4ghz Weather Station not able to link with xFI router.

I tried to hook up my 2.4mhz weather station to my xfinity router and kept getting a message that I had to get away from the router with my phone to get it into a 2.4ghz connection. I tried doing that but then my phone is too far away from the weather station to link the router information. I tried separating the signals but that didn't seem to help. I also tried disabling the 5ghz signal and again it didn't help. Please help!

user_hl11bt, Hi there! Thanks for taking the time out of your day to reach out. I can undersand the importance of having your weather station working correctly so your Wi-Fi signal can have a longer range and better wall penetration. You've come to the right team. Our team of experts specializes in resolving wifi concerns over social media. We can help. Thanks for trying that step for separating the signals and disabling the 5 GHz. To troubleshoot a 2.4GHz weather station not linking with an xFI router, ensure the following:
  1. Verify that the WiFi coverage is good in the area.
  2. Check that the 2.4GHz WiFi Mode is set to 802.11 g/n or 802.11n.
  3. Ensure the Security Mode is WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES).
  4. If there are many WiFi networks, select a non-interfering channel (1, 6, or 11).
  5. Place the router centrally and elevated for better coverage.
  6. “Forget” the network on the weather station and attempt reconnection.

These steps should help establish a connection.
